Musical Theatre Improv - Workshop 2
Musical Theatre Improv - Workshop 2
Two two-hour improv workshops aimed at anyone with some performing experience who wants to give narrative or musical improv (think Showstoppers and Baby Wants Candy, where the performers do one long story/musical) a go. The sessions will be fun, inclusive and relaxed, with lots of opportunities for having a go and making mistakes!
In the musical improv session we will cover basic song structure, scenes into songs, and potentially some more advanced things depending on the group! Both sessions will be crafted around the experience and goals of the participants.
It’s not necessary to attend both workshops but we think you would get more out of the musical workshop having already done narrative. And to be clear, you don’t need to have any improv experience to come!
Laura and Will have 6 years of narrative and musical improv experience. Previously performing in Birmingham and at the Edinburgh Fringe with the Watch This Improv Troupe, they are now performing with Game Called Chat Improv, a musical improv group that they co-founded this year.
Jenny Laahs will be accompanying on the piano for the musical improv workshop and has many years of experience; since 2016, Jenny has primarily played with the award-winning Spontaneous Players, touring across the UK and winning a Scottish Comedy Award in the process.
Monday 1st December - 7pm-9pm
(Please note that this is part of a 2-part workshop. You don’t need to attend both. However, if you wish to attend both, make sure to book the bundle for a discount)
